The heavy-duty potato masher has holes that are similar in size to those on a potato ricer, the kitchen tool most often recommended for preparing mashed potatoes. The oval mashing plate is firmly soldered onto the two-pronged business end, with the tool shaft set deep within the handle, so it will never loosen or break off. And the ergonomic handle is comfortable for both underhand and overhand grips.

The potato masher is dishwasher-safe, so cleaning is simple. To remove water spots caused by a dishwasher dry cycle, Chantal recommends their own brand of stainless steel and aluminum cleaner. For a spotless shine, wash and dry by hand. The potato masher is 13 inches long, with a 3-1/4-by-4-inch mash plate.
